Sir Bryn Terfel, Lesley Garrett and the Orchestra and Chorus of English National Opera join with 2000 singers from around the UK to record Alex’s song A Place to Call Home at the London Coliseum as a charity single for Shelter.

The M1 Symphony is broadcast on BBC Radio 3 at 6.45pm. Alex’s music is performed by the BBC Philharmonic under the baton of Clark Rundell. The broadcast is a collaboration with producer Laurence Grissell, marking the M1’s 60th anniversary in words, sounds and music. Last year, Alex and Laurence worked together on The NHS Symphony, which won awards at the Prix Europa and UK ARIAS.
The Damian Singers perform Alex’s newly-composed anthem at Durham Cathedral, specially commissioned for their 25th anniversary year.

Chandler Johnson performs Alex’s Three Tempestuous Tunes in recital at the First Presbyterian Church of Greenwood, South Carolina. These songs were written for tenor Nicky Spence and pianist Malcolm Martineau back in 2012.

Alex joins Alexei Watkins to present a varied programme of horn and piano music – including some of Alex’s own – at the beautiful Chapel Royal, Hampton Court Palace.
Alex conducts Vox Luna at St Matthew’s Church, Westminster (, as they perform a programme of mostly Russian repertoire. Second performance of Alex’s a cappella choral work The Virgin Mary, at the Chapel of Lincoln’s Inn. This performance takes place at Lincoln’s Inn’s annual John Donne Service; Alex’s piece, fittingly, is a setting of text by Donne.
